Dear council members,
My name is Daniel H Rut
I live at 73-1533 Heneli St in Kaloko Mauka My property tax map key is
3-7-3-024-004-0000-000
I have lived at this address for 23 years.When I built my house I was very conscious of the restriction of only clearing
20%of the rain forest. I still,to this day, maintain that percentage.
However I know that this was never checked on or was I ever asked to prove that I was in compliance with the
restrictions.Therefore I am highly concerned that this will,again be the case with the proposed zoning change that runs
directly behind and abuts my property in full length.
I am also concerned with the lack of regard for the natural wildlife that will be directly impacted not only by the
construction and deforestation but also the increased traffic on an already existing overworked street such as Hao is
currently.
I am not opposed to reasonable progress but this project seems to be without thought or regard for the land and people
it will affect....Kaloko is already stressed water wise and this project will further stretch that resource.
In summary, I am vehemently against this project as it has been proposed.This violates the edicts of what Kaloko forest
was originally intended,that being preservation of the rain forest and minimal population impact.
