Re: Kona 3 Vistas LLC testimony ---` c7-< mac-; Dear Members of the County Council, o -_ As co-curators for the heiau within Pualani Estates,we write today to support the decision of tine unanimously approved report of the CRC. Prepared following nearly three hours of expert testimony and thorough discussion, it clearly indicates that the proposed development for which a ten-year time extension for completion is sought will likely have substantial impacts on historical and cultural assets on the subject property, and that the area should be preserved in perpetuity as a historic property. We have testified both in person and in writing to most of the public meetings about the project and the plan. From our experience as caretakers and curators of the Keaukukui'ula Heiau,we are keenly aware of the loss of culture, history and natural resources that occurs when such a parcel of Kona land is "developed."The Leeward Planning Commission has delayed and obfuscated. We urge the Council to honor the report of the CRC and not permit an additional 10 years of development on top of the 30+years already given. Aloha and mahalo for your careful consideration. 7-- -(e:. -- -' *- . Likeke Ric Bumanglag and Dr. Kate Kealani H.
