Support of this new amendment to Bill 125 requiring the commercial cycling tours to register with the County and provide their routes not only provides data on what roads these commercial tours actually use but also eliminates the restriction of commercial cycling on our County roads and the repercussions of those restrictions on casual cyclists. We urge you to work towards increasing the safety of our roads for all users instead of prioritizing vehicles at the detriment of cyclists and pedestrians. While we understand that Public Works has inherited unsafe roads, the County has worked towards creating a street design manual to guide the implementation of safer streets for all users. That should be the priority and a requirement, especially with the horrific number of fatalities on our roads this year. Again,we ask for your support of the proposed amendment to Bill 125 eliminating the portion of the bill that would ban cycling tours from our County roadways.
