HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 552 Draft 01 2022-2024A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI OFFICE OF HOUSING
AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Office of Housing and Community Development currently rents office space identified as a portion of TMK: (3) 2-2-040:036, Unit G, Suite 107, situated at
1990 Kino‘ole Street, District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawai‘i, and owned by Kaneshiro & Sons Enterprise, Limited and Glenn Kaneshiro Partnership (“Landlords”); and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Department Office of Housing and Community Development continues to need this rental space for the near future and so desires to enter into a multi-year
lease agreement which is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2024, for a five-year term; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlords for this
rental space; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Mayor of the County of Hawai‘i, is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year lease with Kaneshiro & Sons Enterprise,
Limited and Glenn Kaneshiro Partnership, for a five-year term beginning July 1, 2024.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the lease.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to: (1) Office of Management; (2) Department of Finance; (3) Office of Housing and Community Development;
and (4) Mr. Glenn Kaneshiro, 1990 Kinoʻole Street #115, Hilo, Hawaiʻi 96720.
