RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF FOUR (4) FORD F350 AMBULANCES FROM THE CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City and County of Honolulu Emergency Services Department is donating two (2) 2012 Ford F350 ambulances, one (1) 2011 Ford F350 ambulance, and one (1) 2014 Ford F350 ambulance,
with a total estimated value of $80,000, to the Hawai‘i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized in the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s reserve fleet of ambulances; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the City and County of Honolulu Emergency Services Department, 3375 Koapaka Street, Suite
F231, Honolulu, Hawai‘i 96819, acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of Management, Department of Finance and Fire Department.
