No. 538-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 3:46 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 538-24, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 538-24, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa, via Communication <br /> No. 903, dated May 30, 2024, authorizes the acceptance of all donations of securities or personal <br /> property to the County of Hawai`i within the 2024-2025 fiscal year that are not covered by the <br /> Department of Finance's capitalization procedures. <br /> This resolution provides County Coucil pre-authorization for the County to accept donations that are not <br /> covered by the Finance Department's capitalization procedures for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. <br /> Finance Director Diane Nakagawa was present in the Hilo Chamber for questions. <br /> Committee Member Michelle Galimba asked for additional information on this matter and about the <br /> nature of the commodities that are not covered by the Department of Finance's capitalization <br /> procedures. Ms. Nakagawa stated the resolution's relation to Communication 556.2 and further <br /> explained that the resolution allows the department to accept the donation and bring the report to the <br /> Council. <br /> Committee Member Ashley L.
