RE: Cost for County Bands-Addition of Step D for FY 2000-01
At the request of Council Member Curtis Tyler, I am circulating a memorandum dated April 14,
2000, from Director of Parks and Recreation Julie Tulang. The transmittal shows an additional
Step D in all pay grades for Hawaii County and West Hawaii Band members. Ms. Tulang's
memo also indicates that a cost analysis of providing the additional step would be an additional
$1,933 for the Hawaii County Band and $420 for the West Hawaii Band. The memo was
initiated following an inquiry from me.

Please find attached our cost estimate for fiscal year 2000-01 for the addition of Step D to
the Hawaii County Band and West Hawaii Band salary schedules. Please note that the
additional cost for the year will be $1,933 for Hawaii County Band and $420 for West
Hawaii Band.
Also transmitted are a revised salary schedule for Hawaii County Band and a new salary
schedule for West Hawaii Band, both showing the addition of Step D.
