Kimball, Council Chair and Members of the Hawaii County Council FROM; Dr. Holeka Goro Inaba, Council Member SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Resolution No. 548-24; a Resolution Requesting the Office of the County Auditor to Conduct a Financial Audit of the Department of Liquor Control to Ensure the Efficient Allocation and Utilization of Funds in Compliance with Section 281-17.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes. Transmitted herewith are proposed amendments to Resolution No. 548-24. The proposed amendments are shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 548-24; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored. 1. The title is amended to read as follows; "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY AUDITOR TO CONDUCT A [r, IN A NCT A T I PERFORMANCE AUDIT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL TO ENSURE THE EFFICIENT ALLOCATION AND UTILIZATION OF FUNDS IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 281-1.7.5, HAWAI`I REVISED STATUTES." 2. The enacting clause is amended to read as follows: "BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that the Office of the County Auditor is Hereby requested to conduct a [€inane-ial] performance audit of the Department of Liquor Control." Date ' UL\ — 9 2024 3• A third "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED" clause is added to read as follows: "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that to ensure compliance with statirtor requirements and to improve efficiency and integrity, the Department of Liquor Control shall take appropriate action in accordance with the findings and recommendations of the performance audit and submit a progress report to the Council within 180 days of receipt of the comprehensive audit report."
