Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 177, reports as follows:
Bill No. 177, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 923, dated
June 20, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill Appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants — Justice Assistance Grant -Special Response
Team Capability Enhancement grant account ($50,537); and appropriates the same to the Justice
Assistance Grant -Special Response Team Capability Enhancement grant account, to be used to fund
travel and training to increase the efficiency and readiness of the Police Department's Special
Response Team.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is not in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 177, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
