have concerns about this proposed Bill.
-
_--
• currently four STVR/TAR in neighborhood: most are not in compliance with current "Hosted"
requirements or not paying proper taxes (i.e., Homeowners residing more than 180 days paying
$5.95/$1000 Net Taxable Value versus Residential residing less than 180 days paying $11 -
$13/$1000 Net Taxable Value)
• noise: current Department of Health standards do not reflect realities of 2024 especially for
Agriculture designated lots
• traffic: burden on private and public roads for which STVR/TAR do not pay their fare share
• infrastructure: overwhelming public infrastructure whether sewer, police, firefighting, emergency
services
• insufficient housing for residents. Rents received from STVR/TAR are far above what an average
working family in the CoH can afford
• quality of life impact to residents
• major difference between Mainland Investors renting short-term forvacationers and full-time
residents creating income with long-term rentals
I feel this is out of balance with our community and I oppose passage of this Bill.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Milani
