RE: OPPOSE Bill 121
1 am writing in opposition to Bill 121.
Let's LISTEN LIKE DAVID LINI
Even with the latest amendments to Bill 121, the bill still reeks of overreach. It promises excessive fees,
fines, and finger -pointing. It gives nothing to the business owners who have been carrying the aloha for
this state while the folks with the microphones continue to tell visitors not to come.
Bill 121 is premature. First and foremost, an impact study must be done before this bill is passed.
Second, a committee of hosted, operator hosted, and unhosted S`NRs along with concerned citizens and
council people should be formed so input is vibrant, broad based, reasonable, and actionable.
Let's live like it's 2024.
Let's embrace new ways of making money, c'

Let's continue to get creative about affordable housing.
Let's create a path for homeowners to offer long term rentals — if they choose to.
Let's celebrate the character builders of our neighborhoods, STVRs and everyone else. $ ,
Let's be transparent.
Let's get rid of "pay to play" politics.
Let's protect and defend the property rights of homeowners.
Let's be unique.
Let's not be like Maui, Kauai, or Oahu.
Let's be BIG ISLAND strong and KILL Bill 121.
Let's invite everyone who has stayed away back to our island.
Let's be responsible and respectful, and our visitors will follow our example.
