These proposed bills are unconstitutional. They are riddled with regulations that limit our
freedom as property owners.
Elected officials, including all of you council members, are supposed to represent people,
all of the people. Did any elected representative bring these issues to the voters? You
know very well that wouldn't be a good idea- there is no way these bills would pass.
These bills DO NOT represent the wishes of the people who will have to comply or face
fines and potentially LOSE their property. We are forced to comply regardless of our
constitutional property rights. Your solution is to force us to comply with laws that will
punish us if we don't. Let's just call it what it is-- COMMUNISM.
This is government over -reach, these bills are not what the majority of people in our
county want! Your over -reach is a tyrannical attempt to further smother the freedoms
that are guaranteed by our Constitution.
You will see that these unconstitutional bills will fail. Your tax base will be severely cut
by the loss of Transient Accommodation Taxes. Your tax base will be severely cut by the
loss of property taxes because there is no TAR income to help pay them. Your tax base
will be severely cut by the loss of taxes from local businesses who no longer have
tourists and locals patronizing them and paying taxes. Etc., etc....
And what? Again you will be raising our taxes because you don't have the money for
your salaries and pensions. But guess what? There won't be anything to pay you.
