Council Testimony
I Oppose bills 121, 122, 123
Locals are getting priced out of Hawaii thanks to inflation, rising taxes and fees and now
fines. Some locals in Hawaii are trying to figure out how to remain here and not get priced
out of their land. Many of them generate their income from their land. Having a Bed and
Breakfast in their home or on their farm is one way to do that.
Bills 121. 122. 123 are bordering on the crony capitalism we all hate.
It's not fair. The winners of Bill 121, 122, 123 will be the big corps and resorts who can
afford to hire people to deal with fees and red tape.
Let the little mom and pops provide a more intimate experience for visitors to our
CD
islands. There is real value there.

Thank you for trying to do something about rising rents, but these bills and more —
bureaucracy overall will hurt locals more than help.
