Hale Pua is a unique, resort -style oceanfront villa that has been a highly successful vacation rental. The property is designed to provide a tranquil and spacious environment for larger groups, with features that cater to their needs. The original bill allowed for flexibility with the planning director's discretion, which is crucial for properties like mine. Removing this flexibility imposes an unfair restriction on properties that are well-equipped to safely accommodate larger numbers of guests. The bookings for Hale Pua extend well into next year, and the proposed changes would force nee to cancel existing reservations, resulting in financial losses and dissatisfied guests. C I strongly urge the council to reinstate the provision for director authorization. ._. Mahalo, 1.f3 _T I t J Melanie Coppen -- c Comm. *NoRef.To: Ref. DatS l(11
