Council Testimony
Oppose Bill 166
P / Cdv o l
& [ E6(.1
COMM . M$ )
1 am the second owner of a property along Kaloko Drive built on ag land 45 years ago. We farm and raise
sheep on our land.
We have noticed over the years that there has been an absurd amount of increased construction mauka
and that now the displaced wild pig population is out of control. As you well know, they are very
damaging to our property and livestock.
We are also losing the renowned and beloved Kaloko rainforest with all the clear cutting of the trees for
development. Not only is the rainforest a national and international treasure, it is environmentally
necessary.
Allowing big corporations to buy up our 20+ acre parcels of land to subdivide for a multitude of
overpriced Mc mansions will only cause more harm to local residents being priced out of Paradise.
Allowing this to continue is shortsighted. It is greedy. And it is Harmful to both our environment and our
current residents.
Please stand up for the locals of Kailua Kona, whom you represent and do the right thing by voting no on
Bill 166.
