This project was originally approved in 1984. THINGS HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY SINCE 1984. The developers have done very little in the last 40 year and this project needs an updated EIS and review of the infrastructure. This project needs to go back to the drawing board and reconsider these important issues: 1. increased traffic from new subdivisions around this area, at rush hours traffic gets backed up from Henry Street to Lako and beyond. Queen Ka'ahumanu needs new lanes in each4irection BEFORE any more traffic is added and that is not even on the radar for Public Works. 2. Water wells in this area are already over taxed. Further south in the Keauhou area, there water seeping into the wells that have been drilled too deeply. 3. How will the sewage be handled? C= - 4. Where will kids go to schools? Are the existing schools overcrowded? Are there enough r r teachers'? 5. Will there be 2 ways in and out of the proposed subdivision. 1 6. Is there adequate fire and EMT services to service more homes? _ - PLEASE SEND THIS PROJECT BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD and be required to get new entitlements that are IN LINE with TODAY'S INFRASTRUCTURE. Kona is already overdeveloped. PLEASE vote NO on Bill 169! ALL subdivisions should have to re-submit after 7 years of no action. Mahalo. Debbie Hecht Kailua Kona resident for 21 years.
