Amendment to Chapter 4 (Animals) and Chapter 25 (Zoning), of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2016 Edition,As Amended)Relating to Apiaries and
Beekeeping
The Windward Planning Commission (Commission), at its duly held public hearing on July 1,
2024, considered the County Council Initiated Bill No. 144, amending Chapter 4 and Chapter 25,
of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) relating to apiaries and
beekeeping. The Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation of Bill No. 144 to
the County Council as recommended by the Planning Director.
