SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 179; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 16,
Article 3, Section I6-5, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as
Amended), Relating to Community Development Plan Action Committees.
Please see below an amendment to Bill No. 179. The proposed amendment is shown in
Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No, 179, Material to be deleted is bracketed
and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 1 of Bill No. 179, which amends subsection (a) of section 16-5, is amended to read as
follows:
"(a) The CDP action committee shall consist of nine members. All members shall Have a
principal residence[, as evideneed in aeeardanee with ehapter 19,
e f this God in the area covered by the CDP. The determination of "principal
residence" shall be in accordance with criteria described in chapter 19, section 19-
71(e) of this Code, however, there is no requirement that a member own Urogerty. The
members shall be appointed by the mayor and approved by the County council. Prior
service as a member of a CDP steering committee shall not disqualify an individual
from serving on the CDP action committee,"
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that
would result if the amendment were adopted is not attached.
