Re: Proposed Amendments to Communication 943 and Resolution 562-24, Resolution
authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi -year agreement to replace Hawaii County
shared -use electric vehicles
On July 19, 2024, Communication 943 was transmitted to the Council accompanying a
resolution to enter into a multi -year agreement with SP County of Hawaii, LLC. SP
County of Hawaii, LLC has changed their name to be Hawaii Island EV, LLC. Page 2
of Communication 943 also indicated that the cost of the agreement was anticipated to be
$100,200 annually for the replacement of eight electric vehicles. The estimated cost and
quantity have since changed to $86,400 annually for seven replacement vehicles.
Please see below the proposed amendments to Resolution No. 562-24, amending the
name of the entity entering into a multi -year agreement with the County of Hawaii and
the quantity of replacement vehicles. The proposed amendments are shown in Ramseyer
format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 562-24, where the material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken through, material to be added is bolded and
underscored.
1. The title is amended to read as follows:
"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A
MULTI -YEAR AGREEMENT WITH [SP COUNTY OF 14A MI A TAT LLC]
C]
HAWAI`I ISLAND EV, LLC, TO REPLACE HAWAI`I COUNTY SHARED -USE
ELECTRIC VEHICLES"

2. The second WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development desires to enter
into a multi -year agreement for ten (10) years with [SP County of 14a---A,ai'i, LL-C-]
Hawaii Island EV, LLC; and,"
3. The third WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, is purpose of this agreement is to replace the County's
disposed shared -use electric vehicle fleet with [fit] seven new electric vehicles; and"
4. The BE IT RESOLVED clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAIJ:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a ten (10) year agreement,
with [SP Gou-pAy of 14awai'i, L Hawaii Island EV, LLC for the purpose
as described above.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement"
A draft copy of proposed Resolution No. 562-24, Draft 2, has been intentionally omitted
