HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 580 Draft 01 2022-2024A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH KOHALA
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF EQUIPMENT FOR KOHALA RADIO.
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide local support, funding, and education for projects that
will benefit the community of North Kohala; and
WHEREAS, Kohala Radio, a sponsored project of the NKCRC, is a volunteer, listener-supported, non-commercial, non-profit, community radio station that provides a vital platform for creative
expression, cultural diversity, and broadcasting of local events, activities, and emergency information; and
WHEREAS, Kohala Radio is in need of funding for the maintenance and repair of both the on-air and production studio sound boards; and
WHEREAS, the NKCRC is requesting funds for shipping parts of the sound boards to the manufacturer in North Carolina for repairs, as well as purchasing new parts; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs and community projects that promote heathy, drug- and alcohol-free activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the North Kohala Community Resource Center for expenses relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment for Kohala Radio.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
