This letter is being submitted to you as the Chair of the Human Services and Economic N a m
Development Committee. ~
The Boys & Girls Club of Hilo, Inc. has received notification of a Federal Tax Lien in the
amount of $69,1278.01 from the Internal Revenue Service and the County of Hawaii has
received a Notice of Levy against the Boys & Girls Club of Hilo in the amount of
84,235.78.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hilo, lnc. is working with the Hilo Boarding School Trustees
and the national organization to come up with a funding solution so that the 1RS Lien and
other past Club bills are satisfied.
I am requesting that the Council consider the funding recommendation of your committee
for the upcoming fiscal year pending the Boys & Girls Club of Hilo, Inc. receiving a
release of Levy and Lien from the IRS.
