SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 174; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 19,
Article 7, Section 19-53, and Article 10, Section 19-71, of the Hawaii County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Real Property Taxes.
Transmitted herewith is an amendment to Bill No. 174. The proposed amendment is shown in
Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 174; material to be deleted is bracketed
and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 1 of Bill No. 174, which amends chapter 19, article 7, section 19-53 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) by amending subsection (e), is amended by
amending paragraph (2), subparagraph (A), clause (ii) of said subsection to read as follows:
"(ii) Real property which is used for residential rental purposes for a term [- lei]
less than six months, except as exempted under section 19-71(a) and affordable
rental housing."
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that
would result if the amendment were adopted is not attached.
