Aloha kakou Chair Kierkiewicz and council. members,
It makes sense to change the reference from" ohana dwelting" to "accessory dwelling unit". 6hana
implies related.
Here on the Island geneologicat ties would make it pretty easy for fotks to quatity as ohana. However
there is a growing population of fotks not actuatty ohana in the DNA sense of the term.
The proposed adjustment makes sense and iamore inclusive.
I will conctude by testimony by once again shedding some light on the issue of roadway and connectivity.
Speaking OfPuna district, think about if596oflandowners build enmhenadwelling, 0ops,accessory

acres which are being used omalternative routes tuskirt traffic.
The PCDP has identified connectivity Locations (CL)and the funding is in place to acquire the needed
parcels. This process has been dragging onsince 2008.
|piS8dwith this body toput some heat under the Mayor and Public works seat tomove forward in
acquiring all connectivity locations in upper Puna and atso colLaborate with HDOT in building the PMAR
and connectivity between Upper Puna and the saddle. As we have CL purchased we can line up
priorities and create domino effect ofopening them for interaubdiviaiontravel, emergency response
and h8[8-Onservices.
These services are sorely needed now.
Howmuch more theywill be needed when "accessory dwelling units" start getting permitted and built.
