Subject: In Support of Resolution 561-24
Aloha County Council Members,
I strongly support Resolution 561-24. Kona Three, LLC was not recommended
for development by credible organizations like the Leeward Planning
Commission, our Cultural Commission, Soil & Water Conservation, Natural
Resource Conservation Service, and local archeologists, and not in alignment
with our Kona Community Development Plan because it has great cultural
significance, in a major FEMA Flood Zone.
Moreover, Kona in this area especially has inadequate that infrastructure
would not be able to accommodate new development: Overall, our wastewater
system is a mess and our water wells are still broken with no County plans to
fix them.
This PONC opportunity is the optimal solution for land that should never have
been rezoned and allowed for housing development. To be purchase -ready as
an opportunity is very important to our community.
