Favorable vote on Resolution 561-24 is requested.
Dear Esteemed Members of the Council,
I am writing in support of resolution 561-24 which authorizes the County Finance Commissioner to
enter into negotiations to purchase the proposed Kona Vista land using PONC funds. I believe that
the purchase and eternal preservation of the land at issue here to be in the best interests of and
towards the greater good of this island and our children's future. Our children deserve to have open
and significant green space. The Cultural Resources Commission and Kona Community
Developernent Commission also support this purchase which attests to the property's value to the
island's charm and culture.
There is already a high concentration of homes to the South such that the roads and schools are
already taxed to their capacity. The infrastructure is such that no more houses can be accomodated
without reducing the quality of life for all who live south of Henry street. I urge you to vote in favor of
Resolution 561-24 for the good of this island and her residents.
