Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 974, reports as follows:
Communication No. 974, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated August 1, 2024, requests
the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Janet Six to the Hawai'i County
Cultural Resources Commission.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika'i Bartolome was present in the Hilo Chambers to
introduce Dr. Six, who was also present in the Hilo Chambers.
Several members spoke in favor of the appointment.
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Section 2-226(b) of the Hawaii County Code, members of the Hawaii
County Cultural Resources Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of
the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 974, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Janet Six to the Hawaii County Cultural Resources Commission.
