COG 24 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW BUSINESS MANAGER <br /> POSITION FOR THE HAWAI`I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a Business Manager <br /> position to oversee the department's Finance and Human Resources <br /> Sections; and <br /> WHEREAS, this position will acquire approximately fifty percent of the <br /> duties of the department's Personnel Officer, who is the Administrative <br /> Services Bureau Assistant Police Chief; and <br /> WHEREAS, this position is needed to allow the Assistant Police Chief to <br /> focus on other duties and responsibilities within the Administrative Services <br /> Bureau; and <br /> WHEREAS, the position indicated above is one (1) Business Manager, <br /> EM03; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br /> that one (1) Business Manager, EM03, position be created in the Hawaii <br /> County Police Department. <br />
