RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW BUSINESS MANAGER POSITION FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a Business Manager position to oversee the department’s Finance and Human Resources Sections; and
WHEREAS, this position will acquire approximately fifty percent of the duties of the department’s Personnel Officer, who is the Administrative Services Bureau Assistant Police Chief;
and
WHEREAS, this position is needed to allow the Assistant Police Chief to focus on other duties and responsibilities within the Administrative Services Bureau; and
WHEREAS, the position indicated above is one (1) Business Manager, EM03; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that one (1) Business Manager, EM03, position be created in the Hawai‘i County Police Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Police Department, the Department of Human
Resources and the Department of Finance.
