Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 191, reports as follows:
Bill No. 191, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 980, dated
August 1, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants — Hawai'i County Trek the Trails account
($96,000); and appropriates the same to the Hawaii County Trek the Trails account. Funds would be
used to promote alternative transportation options, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and introduce the
community to the interconnectivity provided through the Trek the Trails project.
There was no discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 191, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
