Aloha County Council Chair and Members,
My name is Diane Ware and I live in Volcano, Moku o Ka'u. I OPPOSE Bill 169, Draft 3.
I want to address our representatives who wish to see this bill passed. I am urging you to listen to the recommendations
byour residents, credible organizations, and professionals that this land |onot fit for any development, period. Instead,
open space preservation is recommended to restore riparian forest inthis natural floodp|ainto protect our community
below while addressing our major infrastructure concerns. The process over a decade to develop this property has been
corrupted a d rife with special interests. How many actual low and moderate income families will be helped? Wealthy
developers from other places enrich themselves while residents are hurt by rising living costs and become marginalized.
