RE: Bills for Ordinances (First Reading) Bill 1.69 Kona Three LLC., Extension
He Mele korno a he mele aloha no na kupuna o ke au i hala Aloha mai kakou.
Aloha,
My name is Cindy Freitas and I'm a Native Hawaiian descended of the native inhabitants of Hawai'i
prior to 1778 and born and raised in. Hawai'i.
I am also a practitioner who still practice the cultural traditional customary practices that was instill in
me by my grandparents at a young age from mauka (MOUNTAIN TO SEA) to makai in many areas.for
I OPPOSE Bill 169 Extension for the following reason:
I want to address our representatives who wish to see this bill passed. I am urging you to listen to the
recommendations by our residents, credible organizations, and professionals that this land is not fit for
any development, period. Instead, open space preservation is recommended to restore a riparian forest
in this natural FLOODPLAIN to protect our community below while addressing our major
infrastructure concerns.
Thes are the organization who is NOT RECOMMENDED TO BUILD
CULTURAL COMMISSION (CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT)
LOCAL ARCHEOLOGISTS
KONA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN
LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION
KONA SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION
NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICES
DEPARTMENT OF PUBILC WORKS (FEMA DATA)
MULTIPLE FAILED EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS
INADEQUATE INFRASTRUCTURE
OVER 1,000 TESTIMONIES IN OPPOSITION
Kona Three is now an island -wide issue because County Council members, Jenn Kgiwada, Matt
Kaneah'i-Kleinfelder, Ashley Keierkiewicz, Sue Lee Loy and Michelle
Gallimba are ignoring, ALL Of our logical warnings from credible sources and are stuck on this
"AFFORDABLE HOUSING". Which it is NOT. So please look at the testimony.
Mahalo,
