Subject: Resolution 562-24 - EVs for the County fleet
Dear Council, I am writing to express my strong support for this resolution. The County ioleading the way
on EV ownership and decarbonizing transportation. In an increasingly uncertain worLd Hawaii's almost
comptete dependency on oil imports for transportation and also much of our eLectricity is
unconscionabLe and unwise. I urge the County to dramaticaLly ramp up its efforts to convert its fleet fully
to etectric in the coming 5-10 years. In addition to the SP modet for EV purchases I atso urge the Councit
tofuik/consider the merits ofdirect County ownership.
