Dear Hawaii County Council Members,
|aminfull support and agreement with (Res.Res. allowing the county toprocure seven new electric vehicles.
Many thanks to the Finance Committee for its vote in support of this resolution.
The advantages ofdriving electric are well known, and the County will become arole model for business fleet managers,
rental car agencies, and the general public.
With these new fully -electric vehicles, county employees will gain knowledge and familiarity with the features and
advantages ofEV`s.This will likely carry over totheir personal and family vehicle choices as we move, ever more rapidly,
to a sustainable electrified future ' "once you've driven electric you'll never go back!"
I look forward to the Hawaii Police Department also converting to a fully electric fleet.Of note: The South Pasadena
Police Department, isthe nation's first law enforcement agency to completely replace its gasoline -powered vehicles with
nonpolluting electric vehicles.
