Subject: Support PCIA Bill 184
Aloha Madam Chair and members of the Policy Committee on Infrastructure and Assets,
l was very nnudl sadden when I returned to Hevvai'i last year and found out that street vendors would no
longer beable Looperate onthe side ofthe roads.
There were so many great food trucks and stands serving healthy, delicious, and relatively inexpensive
food. In addition, many small farmers and fishermen were able to sell fresh produce and catch for great
cook -at-home meal.
I'd always taken this positive socio-economic activity as Hawaiian community benefit. Shutting this
down just seemed so "un-Hawaiian" and an undermining of the quality of life in our communities.
Therefore, I am thrilled so see this bill being introduced today and urge all committee members toforward
it to the full council with a positive recommendation.
Maha|VOui|Oa,
Chuck Flaherty
