RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH HAWAII ISLAND EV, LLC, TO REPLACE HAWAI‘I COUNTY SHARED-USE ELECTRIC VEHICLES
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development desires to enter into a multi-year agreement for ten (10) years with Hawaii Island EV, LLC; and
WHEREAS, is purpose of this agreement is to replace the County’s disposed shared-use electric vehicle fleet with seven new electric vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the agreement covers the cost of the vehicles, paint protection/ceramic film, stickers, decals, dealer accessories, license/registration, delivery, maintenance reserve, monthly
detailing service, and cloud-based telematics asset management; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a ten (10) year agreement, with Hawaii Island EV, LLC for the purpose as described above.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
That Hawaii Island EV, LCC collaborate with the Department of Research and Development to prepare a report identifying workforce development opportunities and the resources needed to
support electric vehicle maintenance within the County, and present the report to the Council no later than eighteen months after execution of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Finance Department, Department of Research
and Development.
