RESOLUTION NO. G12
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF TWENTY-SIX
(26) PORTABLE GENERATORS FROM THE STATE OF HAWAVI,
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, HAWAVI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AGENCY
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Defense, Hawaii Emergency
Management Agency (HIEMA), Logistics Division possesses portable generators that
are not currently being utilized; and
WHEREAS, HIEMA has offered twenty-six (26) of these portable generators,
valued at approximately $15,619.47, to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency;
and
WHEREAS, these portable generators will be utilized island wide to enhance
the department's local emergency capabilities; and
WHEREAS, Article XII1, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this
equipment; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this equipment.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted
to the Office of Management, Department of Finance and Civil Defense Agency.
