RESOLUTION NO. 61G Z4
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOLUALOA VILLAGE
OHANA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR ITS 25TH ANNUAL COFFEE & ART
STROLL.
WHEREAS, H61ualoa Village Ohana is a 5 01 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that was
created to protect, preserve, and share the history and heritage of H61ualoa Village, its coffee,
and traditions of art and culture; and
WHEREAS, H61ualoa Village Ohana hosts an annual celebration of Kona coffee and art
that is open to the public and features local coffee farms, local chefs, coffee-themed items, food
vendors, and free samplings; and
WHEREAS, the 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll will be held in H61ualoa Village on
November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, H61ualoa Village Ohana is requesting funds to assist with expenses for
venue fees, special -duty officers, shuttle service, portable lua rental, printing, signage, and
banners; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs and activities that
promote education and well-being in a drug -free and alcohol -free environment, such as the 25th
Annual Coffee & Art Stroll; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service,
equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the H61ualoa Village Ohana to assist with expenses for the
25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
