A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HŌLUALOA VILLAGE
OHANA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR ITS 25TH ANNUAL COFFEE & ART STROLL.
WHEREAS, Hōlualoa Village Ohana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to protect, preserve, and share the history and heritage of Hōlualoa Village, its coffee, and traditions
of art and culture; and
WHEREAS, Hōlualoa Village Ohana hosts an annual celebration of Kona coffee and art that is open to the public and features local coffee farms, local chefs, coffee-themed items, food
vendors, and free samplings; and
WHEREAS, the 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll will be held in Hōlualoa Village on November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Hōlualoa Village Ohana is requesting funds to assist with expenses for venue fees, special-duty officers, shuttle service, portable lua rental, printing, signage, and banners;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs and activities that promote education and well-being in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, such as the 25th Annual
Coffee & Art Stroll; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the Hōlualoa Village Ohana to assist with expenses for the 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
