RE: 121
I come before you today exhausted with following all the machinations of this
S_
bill 121 and 124 to some degree. You know me as a Realtor active in your
community for over 30 years. I have had my real estate license in Hawaii for
44years. I have worked very hard to come from absolutely nothing to own my
own home. I ask you today to see me as that homeowner not the Realtor. lam
a widow making decisions about the quality of my maturing years. There are
aspects of 121 that might- benefit me but the more important message I'd like
to leave you with is for you to really consider and own your power to alter the
quality of my life after I've made decisions. You are doing that to many, many
of your constituents with this legislation. I'm a bright businesswoman but
tracking all the changes is time consuming and distracting from doing my job.
I have good professionals around me to advise me. Do all of your constituents
have those resources? More importantly do they even know they need them
because of what you are about to do to/for them?
I respectfully ask you to Slow Down! Sto! Do the economic impact study.
Revisit chapter 25. Take a serious comprehensive Look at our counties tax
laws because that is where the money is. And the money is what it ALL is
about.
Thank you for this opportunity to share my fears with you.
