Of <br />COUNTY OF HAWAIJ STATE OF HAWAIJ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 627 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br />HAWAPI FOR ITS HAWAIJ COUNTY SEQUENTIAL INTERCEPT MODEL <br />REPORT. <br />WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist <br />justice -involved men, women, and youth with reintegration into community life through <br />employment, education, housing, and appropriate services; and <br />WHEREAS, the "Sequential Intercept Model" (SIM) is a tool developed by the <br />Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to understand the landscape of <br />behavioral health and justice systems and details how individuals with behavioral health and <br />substance use disorders move through the criminal justice system; and <br />WHEREAS, the SIM is supported by local organizations focusing on behavioral health <br />and justice transformation, which includes Going Home Hawai'i Consortium; and <br />WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is requesting funds to assist with consulting fees for <br />in -person meetings and information gathering in Kona and Hilo; interviews, site visits, formal <br />presentation of findings and reports; publishing the final report; and food and refreshments for <br />meeting attendees; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the <br />criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other <br />criminal justice agencies and the community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br />Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for expenses related to its <br />Hawaii County Sequential Intercept Model Report. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
