V of.1,4 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 629 Z4 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE <br />NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE <br />WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii County is a member of the Hawaii State Association of Counties <br />(HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region <br />(WIR); and <br />WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, on August 22, 2024, approved nominees <br />for the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 terms; and <br />WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the <br />nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIII that <br />Tommy Waters of the Honolulu City Council, and KipuKai Kuali'i of the Kaua'i County <br />Council are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors, and Sue Lee Loy of the Hawaii <br />County Council to serve as the NACo presidential appointee, for the 2024-2025 term. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Shane Sinenci of the Maui County Council, and <br />Michelle Galimba of the Hawaii County Council are approved to serve on the WIR Board of <br />Directors for the 2024-2025 term. <br />
