COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 629 Z4
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE
WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, Hawaii County is a member of the Hawaii State Association of Counties
(HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region
(WIR); and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, on August 22, 2024, approved nominees
for the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 terms; and
WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the
nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIII that
Tommy Waters of the Honolulu City Council, and KipuKai Kuali'i of the Kaua'i County
Council are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors, and Sue Lee Loy of the Hawaii
County Council to serve as the NACo presidential appointee, for the 2024-2025 term.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Shane Sinenci of the Maui County Council, and
Michelle Galimba of the Hawaii County Council are approved to serve on the WIR Board of
Directors for the 2024-2025 term.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the President and the Secretary of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties.
