No. 994/Bill No. 197 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:31 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 197, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 197, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 994, dated <br /> August 14, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. <br /> This bill increases revenues in the State Grants—Career Criminal Program account($55,034); and <br /> appropriates the same to the Career Criminal Prosecution Program account, for a total appropriation of <br /> $546,168. Funds would be used to support nine positions in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. <br /> Finance Deputy Director Aaron Brown appeared in the Hilo Chambers. <br /> Committee Member Heather Kimball stated that there is no accompanying resolution to this bill and <br /> questioned if this was intentional or an oversight.
