No. 992/Res.No. 592-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs,to which was referred <br /> Resolution No. 592-24,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 592-24,transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br /> No. 992, dated August 14, 2024, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State <br /> of Hawai`i Department of Taxation. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a memorandum of agreement to share <br /> confidential tax return information relating to the administration of the State and County of <br /> Hawai`i's Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT). <br /> Finance Deputy Director Aaron Brown and TAT Internal Controls Manager Wilson Crider were <br /> present in Chambers to provide comment on and answer questions about the resolution. <br /> Member Heather L. Kimball asked for clarification as to which way the data sharing would be <br /> going, as she felt it was unclear in the resolution.
