My wife and I have struggled financially for 20 years as teachers in the Konawaena Complex ta make
endsmeet. It was difficutt, but we saved enough for a home through a frugat 1 -car lifestyle. -- �
Our lives improved the month we began renting our STR. We couLd finally afford a second vehicle, we
could afford healthier food, we could pay for dance lessons for our daughter, save for her education, and
finally save for retirement. VV8are not mainland speculators.

Would all of the council members today be witting to agree to not accept future political contributions or
future employment opportunities from the same corporations that these restrictions and fees would
benefit? |fnot, then | see oconfiiotofinterest inthe matter.
Hard times are on the horizon for our communities because of the looming recession. There's already
been odownturn iOtourism and itwill get worse. Don't kill the gnkJ8ngoose just aothat the Hotel
corporations can raise their profit margins.
