Subject: SUPPORT for Bill 144
Aloha Councilmembers.
I am expressing my strong SUPPORT for Bill 144. Passing this Bill will mean exempting apiaries from
the definition of livestock production and allow bees to be regulated under the Hawai'i Right to Farm
Act which can protect beekeepers from unnecessary regulations and give them more freedom to place
their hives where they decide they should go. Hawaii Island will increase its food sustainability while
increasing the numbers of pollinators by passing this bill. More bees = more honey AND more
pollination. Please pass the bill!
