COUNTY OF HAWAI'l <br />STATE OF HAWAI'l <br />RESOLUTION NO. 634 24 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI- <br />YEAR AGREEMENT WITH HAWAIIAN TELCOM, INC. FOR CENTREX <br />BIZ PLUS SERVICE FOR THE HAWAI'I POLICE DEPARTMENT AND <br />HAWAI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br />lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later <br />fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Police Department and the County of Hawaii <br />Fire Department desires to enter into a multi -year agreement for three (3) years with <br />Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. for Centrex Biz Plus service at a new joint communications <br />center located at 540 Kupuna Place, Hilo; and <br />WHEREAS, this service will provide access to the latest telecommunication <br />technology, which is essential for effective emergency management and ensure <br />uninterrupted communication services; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year agreement, <br />with Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. for the purpose as described above. <br />2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the <br />anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement <br />
