RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH HAWAIIAN TELCOM, INC. FOR CENTREX BIZ PLUS SERVICE FOR THE HAWAI‘I POLICE DEPARTMENT AND HAWAI‘I FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Police Department and the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department desires to enter into a multi-year agreement for three (3) years with Hawaiian Telcom, Inc.
for Centrex Biz Plus service at a new joint communications center located at 540 Kupuna Place, Hilo; and
WHEREAS, this service will provide access to the latest telecommunication technology, which is essential for effective emergency management and ensure uninterrupted communication services;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year agreement, with Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. for the purpose as described above.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Finance Department, Hawai‘i Police Department
and the Hawai‘i Fire Department.
