J�TVfOf N'�w <br />����Iptis <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ STATE OF HAWAII <br />j N� MM <br />. <br />�rF"wMF'� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 642 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PEPE`EKEO <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR ITS ALOHA `AINA <br />COMMUNITY EVENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the Pepe`ekeo Community Development Corporation (PCDC) is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to identify, celebrate, and preserve the culture of <br />Pepe`ekeo; and <br />WHEREAS, PCDC coordinates year -long Aloha `Aina events in the Pepe`ekeo region <br />that include shoreline cleaning and maintenance, propagation and transplant of native plants to <br />prevent further ocean erosion, teaching conservation and resilience practices to support the <br />community and its shoreline access, and maintenance of three access gates; and <br />WHEREAS, PCDC is requesting funds to cover conservation and resilience training <br />fees, supplies for shoreline maintenance, signage and maintenance of access gates, and general <br />office supplies for community outreach; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br />events and activities that address the needs and interests of our diverse communities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Pepe`ekeo Community Development Corporation <br />for its Aloha `Aina community events. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
