J�tV of HI COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION No. 644 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KV ANUENUE TO SUPPORT ITS INAUGURAL INCLUSIVE PROM. WHEREAS, Ka Anuenue is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and sustain space for and with mdhfi and queer people, from keiki to kapuna and their families and caregivers, to empower each other and our larger community with shared resources and mutual support; and WHEREAS, Ka Anuenue is hosting its inaugural Inclusive Prom at Sangha Hall at 5:00-9:00 p.m. on November 22, 2024, and all Hawaii County high school students are invited to attend, as well as their registered guests from ages 13 to 20; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the inaugural Inclusive Prom is to provide a safe space for indhii and queer youth to flourish and enjoy living their authentic selves; and WHEREAS, Ku Anuenue is requesting funding assistance to help cover necessary expenses relating to fees for live performers and a DJ and the rental of the venue, sound and lighting equipment, and a runway stage for the inaugural Inclusive Prom; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to support drug -free and alcohol - free events for the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Ku Anuenue to support its inaugural Inclusive Prom. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
